Ismail hails 'good job from everyone'

Ismail Azzaoui said the whole team deserves credit after Monday’s FA Youth Cup win over Blackburn Rovers.

The Belgian youth international bagged a hat-trick in the third round tie, adding to well-taken goals at the start of both halves with a dipping effort from the edge of the box with five minutes to go.

Josh Onomah had earlier restored our lead after Sam Joel’s equaliser for Blackburn.

While naturally thrilled with his treble, 16-year-old wide player Ismail insisted it was all about the team’s performance as we ran out 4-1 winners.

“I’m happy to get my first hat-trick for Spurs but everybody played well,” he said. “It was a good game and a good performance from the team.

“We knew we needed to score quickly but it was still difficult. After Josh scored to make it 2-1 we kept playing well and continued scoring goals. It was a good job from everyone.”
