Kenny McEvoy marked his return home with a key assist as Republic of Ireland Under-21s kicked-off their Euro U21 2017 qualifying campaign with a win against Andorra on Thursday night.

The match was in Kenny's home town of Waterford and although the Republic dominated, they only managed to score once - and Kenny provided the assist in the 23rd minute for Dylan Connolly. Kenny played 86 minutes.

Filip Lesniak played the full match as Slovakia U19s grabbed a 93rd-minute equaliser against Elite Round hosts Germany in UEFA European U19 qualifying in Mannheim.

Harry Winks' evening didn't end so well as he received a second yellow card as England Under-19s came from behind twice to beat Denmark 3-2 in their UEFA U19 Elite Round opener in France.

Charlie Owens and Chris Paul were in the Northern Ireland U19 team that gained a 1-1 friendly draw against Holland.

Meanwhile, in senior friendlies, Nabil Bentaleb earned his 15th cap for Algeria but his side slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Qatar in Doha.
