Internationals - Sunday action, Monday preview

28 March 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Winks proudly captained England Under-20s in a friendly against Canada on Sunday.

However, the midfielder - who recently put pen to paper on a new deal here at Spurs - could do little as the visitors struck two fine goals, one in each half, to secure a 2-1 win at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium.

Harry played the full 90 minutes as Canada went 2-0 up before Chelsea's Kasey Palmer pulled a goal back 20 minutes from time.

Marcus Edwards made it four goals in two matches this week for England Under-18s on Sunday.

Having scored twice in a friendly win against Austria last Wednesday, the Academy playmaker doubled up again as the Young Lions beat the Republic of Ireland 4-1 at St George's Park.

Marcus completed the 90 minutes while his team-mate and goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman was an unused substitute on this occasion.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Michel Vorm has been called into the Dutch squad for tomorrow night's (Tuesday, March 29) friendly against England at Wembley following an injury to Ajax’s Jasper Cillessen.
