Heung-Min Son was in action as South Korea booked their place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals with a goalless draw away to Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
The point gained from the outing, in which Sonny completed the full 90 minutes, saw South Korea secure second place in Group A in the Asian qualifying section and, with that, automatic progression to Russia.
Elsewhere in World Cup qualifying, new signing Davinson Sanchez won his third international cap for Colombia, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw away to Brazil, Serge Aurier was in the Ivory Coast side that lost 2-1 at home to Gabon while Ben Davies also put in a full shift for Wales as they won 2-0 in Moldova to move up to second in European Group D.
Meanwhile, Kyle Walker-Peters made his England Under-21s debut from the start in a 3-0 win over Latvia at Bournemouth in European Under-21 Championship qualifying.
Young left-back Jaden Brown started and centre-half Japhet Tanganga was introduced as a second-half substitute as England Under-19s lost 3-1 to Germany at Mansfield.
On Monday, midfielder Oliver Skipp started and defender TJ Eyoma and midfielder Tashan Oakley-Boothe came on as 72nd-minute substitutes as England Under-18s lost 2-1 to South Africa at Leek Town.
With the international fixtures now complete, our players have begun to report back to Hotspur Way as we build up to Saturday’s return to Premier League action at Everton.
