Internationals - Monday action, Tuesday fixtures

28 March 2017|Tottenham Hotspur

Goalkeeper Pau Lopez made a series of good saves to help Spain Under-21s to victory in Italy on Monday night.

The stopper, on loan to us from La Liga side Espanyol, retained his place between the sticks following last week’s 3-1 home win over Denmark as Spain triumphed 2-1 in the friendly clash.

Midfielder Harry Winks, meanwhile, was an unused substitute for England Under-21s in their 4-0 away victory over Denmark.

Elsewhere, youngster Marcus Edwards was on the scoresheet for England Under-19s as they completed their European Championship elite round qualifiers with a 5-1 win over Belarus at St George’s Park. The attacking midfielder netted England’s third goal and completed the full 90 minutes, as did Alfie Whiteman in goal.

Another talented attacking midfielder, Samuel Shashoua, shone for England Under-18s, grabbing two assists in the Young Lions’ 4-0 friendly win away to Qatar. He was withdrawn after 69 minutes while defender Japhet Tanganga was an unused substitute.

In addition, goalkeeper Tom Glover played for Australia Under-23s in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Finland. Australia also drew 1-1 with Austria on Friday.
