Internationals: Eriksen on target, England training gallery
07 June 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
Christian Eriksen scored as Denmark were minutes away from a friendly win against Germany on Tuesday night.
The midfielder proudly wore the captain's armband and rifled home on 18 minutes, a lead the Danes held until five minutes from time, when Joshua Kimmich equalised for the world champions.
Christian took his Spurs form (eight goals, 15 assists in the Premier League) onto the international stage in Copenhagen.
He'd already set-up a golden opportunity for Jannik Vestergaard - tipped over point-blank by Kevin Trapp - before opening the scoring. Denmark's high press force Germany into a defensive mistake and Christian latched onto the loose ball, drilling low past Trapp from 20 yards.
Christian went close again from 25 yards five minutes into the second half before departing on 65 minutes.
Denmark now travel to Kazakhstan for a World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
Jan/Toby play 90
On Monday, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld both started and played 90 minutes as Belgium beat Czech Republic 2-1 in a friendly in Brussels. The Red Devils face Estonia in World Cup qualifying on Friday.
Meanwhile, our five England players - Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Kane, Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker - were back in training at St George's Park ahead of Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Scotland at Hampden Park.
Heung-Min Son is with the South Korea squad for a friendly in Iraq this evening (6pm).
