Internationals - Colombia clash for Erik's Argentina

26 June 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Erik Lamela and Argentina face their first match in the knockout stages of the Copa America in Chile in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Unbeaten at the tournament so far, topping Group B with seven points out of a possible nine, Gerardo Martino’s men take on Colombia in the quarter-finals, the latter side having qualified as one of the two best performing third placed teams from the group stage.

They ended their Group C campaign with four points, having scalped Brazil 1-0 and then drawn 0-0 with Peru after a 1-0 defeat to Venezuela in their opening game of the tournament.

Erik went on as a substitute for Argentina in their most recent outing – a 1-0 win over Jamaica – having been on the bench for his nation’s first two matches – a 2-2 draw with Paraguay and 1-0 triumph over Uruguay.

Kick-off against Colombia is at 12.30am UK time on Saturday.
