International round-up: Scott, Jermain play in England win
Four Spurs players were in action last night as Euro 2012 fast approaches.
Scott Parker played the full 90 minutes as England beat Belgium 1-0 in their final match before the European Championship in Poland/Ukraine.
The midfielder had been an injury doubt for the tournament after missing our final four matches of the season (barring a substitute appearance against Aston Villa), but this performance will have allayed any concerns that he might not be ready for England's campaign.
Scott played well and shaded his midfield battle with Fellaini, but he didn't come as close to scoring as Jermain Defoe did. Our striker, on as a second half substitute for Ashley Young, jinked to his right in the box before sending in a shot that cannoned off the far post.
Jermain also hit a shot into the side-netting after a good England counter-attack, showing his worth to the squad as a goal threat.
Elsewhere, Rafa van der Vaart came off the bench in the second half as the Netherlands thumped Northern Ireland 6-0. Rafa was inches away from scoring in the 75th minute when his left-footed effort came off the inside of the post and rolled across the goal-line.
And finally, Niko Kranjcar came on in the 63rd minute as Croatia conceded a last minute goal to draw 1-1 with Norway in Oslo.
