International round-up: Rafa, Gio on target
Rafa van der Vaart and Giovani Dos Santos were both on target for their countries in the latest round of international matches.
After back-to-back defeats, the Netherlands badly needed a win against Slovakia in Rotterdam and Bert Van Marwijk's team delivered. After an early own goal gave Rafa's side the lead, our midfielder sealed the victory with a goal in the 75th minute with a low right-footed shot across the Slovakian goalkeeper from 15-yards out.
Gio was also on the scoresheet for Mexico as his team ran out 2-1 winners over Bosnia-Herzegovina in Chicago. The striker was in the right place at the right time as Asmir Begovic spilled a shot, allowing Gio to slot home from close range.
In Washington, Sandro played the full 90 minutes as Brazil beat the USA 4-1 in a clinical display to seal their ninth consecutive victory ahead of the Olympics in London this summer.
And finally, Harry Kane played 90 minutes as the England U19s recorded a 1-0 win over Switzerland and a place in the European Championship Finals in Estonia this July. The striker tested the Swiss goalkeeper several times but it was a late strike from Saido Berahino that secured victory.
