Jermain Defoe and Andros Townsend made second half appearances as England suffered a 2-0 friendly defeat against Chile at Wembley on Friday night.
Chile led 1-0 through Alexis Sanchez's early goal when Andros replaced Jay Rodriguez on 57 minutes for his third cap and then Jermain came on for James Milner in the 66th minute to earn cap number 55.
Andros looked lively as always and created a chance with his first touch, darting away from two defenders and cutting the ball back for Milner, who was hacked down on the edge of the box. Unfortunately, Leighton Baines' free-kick was blocked the defensive wall.
Chances were few and far between though and it was a frustrating half-hour for Jermain, who didn't have a clear sight of goal.
Barcelona striker Sanchez capped Chile's night with a late second goal.
Elsewhere, Christian Eriksen had to depart early through injury as Denmark beat Norway 2-1 at the MCH Arena in Herning.
Christian made a positive start to the friendly, delivering the corner for William Kvist to open the scoring and then seeing a goalbound effort blocked by a Norwegian defender.
However, he was forced out of the action just before half-time.
Erik Lamela was an unused substitute as Argentina drew 0-0 against Ecuador in New Jersey, USA last night.
Paulinho is with Brazil for a friendly against Honduras in Miami on Saturday night.
