Injury crisis!

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

George Graham has been rocked by another injury crisis at Spurs.

Scans on Oyvind Leonhardsen’s hamstring injury revealed a tear and he could be missing for six to eight weeks.

The boss has now been left reeling by news that two more players require surgery.

Mauricio Taricco — who had groin surgery in the summer — will have to be operated on again to clear up further groin trouble that has kept him out of action since September.

And striker Steffen Iversen’s tests have revealed that he needs minor keyhole surgery on his knee problem.

Sol Campbell and Chris Armstrong are also out and suddenly there are memories of last season’s problems when Darren Anderton, Les Ferdinand, Tim Sherwood, Steffen Freund, Stephen Carr, Ramon Vega, Campbell and Leonhardsen all spent at least a month on the sidelines.

George said: “Leo looks like being out for six to eight weeks, Mauricio will soon be going for an operation and Steffen Iversen needs one as well.

“Suddenly we’re heading towards a major crisis again with key players out with long-term injuries. Sadly, we haven’t the strength in depth to cope with all these problems at the same time.

“It’s a very similar situation to last year. One of my main targets was to get over this type of situation at Tottenham but it’s proving very difficult.”
