Ifil ready for Town test
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Philip Ifil says our under-18 team are determined to go all the way in the FA Youth Cup, but first they must next overcome the semi-final hurdle presented by Ipswich Town, with the first leg taking place at Portman Road on Friday evening.
Pat Holland's side have blazed something of a trail in getting to this stage - beating Nottingham Forest, completing a Mersey double over Liverpool and Everton, before seeing off Watford in the quarter-finals.
"We are in the semi-finals and we obviously want to go all the way," reasoned the England under-19 international. "There are some strong teams left in the competition - Ipswich, Southampton and Wolves - and all have a good chance of doing it.
"If we can play well on Friday, take them back to White Hart Lane and have another good game, we will do alright.
"Ipswich are a good side, like their first team are - good technical players. This is better for us really as we are also a technical team. If we can at least match them physically as well, we should do well.
"Our defence is strong, while Andy Barcham up front is firing at the moment ahead of our good midfield. We are working off a good base."
Despite Philip and Jamie O'Hara only having featured in the Youth Cup encounters, the full-back insists there is a great togetherness in the side that has only grown with progress in the competition.
"There is, off the pitch we get on well and are good friends, we have a unity that has seen us do well. We also have a belief within ourselves that we can beat anyone."
