Ifil on new recruit
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Philip Ifil is looking forward to the prospect of linking up with his England international mate Tom Huddlestone here at Spurs.
The Derby County starlet is this summer set to join the clutch of young players at the club seeking to make the first team breakthrough and play in the Premiership. Since arriving last July, Sporting Director Frank Arnesen has sought to strengthen the development group and has recruited the likes of Reto Ziegler, Rodrigo Defendi, Spase Dilevski, Calum Davenport, Emil Hallfredsson, David Limbersky and Mounir El Hamdaoui with an eye firmly fixed on the future.
Huddlestone's arrival will add to this pool of players, which also includes the homegrown Ifil, and the young full-back is well placed to offer an insight into the potential of the now England under-21 international.
"I have played with Tom for a few years since the under-16s and we have played a number of games together," reported Phil.
"He is a good player and good to play with - he has got a lot in his game. He is strong, his passing range is fantastic and he is a good signing.
"I am looking forward to playing with him next season.
"The challenge for all of us is good, we will all want to show what we can do and if I get my chance I'll prove that I want to stay in the team."
Huddlestone is known to be a versatile operator and Phil has his own opinion on what his strongest position is.
"Centre of midfield, holding. In front of the back four I would have him there with his passing, he could help the defence, block shots and use his passing ability.
"He is coming here soon and you will see for yourself - it will be good!"
