I want to be better - Nacer

05 March 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Nacer Chadli has set his sights on more goals after hitting double-figures in the 3-2 win against Swansea.

The Belgian international opened the scoring with a clinical cushioned volley into the top corner from Danny Rose’s cross just seven minutes in against the Swans.

We recovered from the visitors replying against the run of play and going in at 1-1 at half-time to forge into a 3-1 lead in the second half with goals from Ryan Mason and Andros Townsend.

Gylfi Sigurdsson’s late goal for 3-2 made it a nervy last few minutes but we held on for maximum points.

Nacer’s strike represented his eighth in the Premier League and 10th in all competitions this term as we recovered from the disappointment of going out of the Europa League last week and losing at Wembley on Sunday.

“To play three days after losing a cup final isn’t easy but we bounced back with a win, a great win, we deserved it and everyone is happy, even though we had a bit of a scare at the end,” reflected Nacer.

“I have much better statistics than last season and I want to improve, I want to be a better player.

“I’ve played the last two games, played 90 minutes and I feel better and better every week and I think there is more to come.

“I want to score more than 10 goals and help the team to win games. I’m very happy to score and it’s a good feeling to win again. We had to win, we had to bounce back and we did that. That was most important.”
