'I just felt we were going to score' - Kyle

23 September 2013|Tottenham Hotspur

Kyle Naughton always believed we'd find the net at Cardiff.

In the end, it took until the 93rd minute for Paulinho’s backheel to secure a deserved 1-0 victory, making it four wins in our opening five matches in the Premier League.

That was our 29th shot of the afternoon - 20 on target - as we were denied time after time by home goalkeeper David Marshall.

“I just felt we were going to score a goal, perhaps not in the 93rd minute, but I thought we would score,” said the full-back, who described the feeling when Paulinho struck.

“When the ball hit the back of the net the fans erupted, the players erupted, everyone went mad! We kept going and got the winner in the end.”

The 1-0 win also represented our seventh clean sheet in eight matches in all competitions this season.

“That’s important as well,” added Kyle, who once again showed his versatility at left-back with Danny Rose suffering an injury against Tromso IL on Thursday.

“Daws and Jan are such a solid pairing, Hugo’s on fire, he got me out of trouble in the first half, Walks as well, it’s a strong back four.”
