Hull vs Spurs - Kyle on away style

Fri 31 January 2014, 15:00|Tottenham Hotspur

As someone who’s already played 210 minutes of football against Hull City this season, Kyle Walker knows we’ve got a battle on our hands this weekend.

Our England international right-back played a key role in consecutive home victories over the Tigers in the Premier League and Capital One Cup in October – the latter game going to extra time and penalties.

The league meeting in particular was a tight affair, settled only by Roberto Soldado’s late strike from the spot.

But Kyle believes we could see a different pattern of play at the KC Stadium on Saturday as we look to continue our excellent run of away wins.

“They’re well organised but I think it will be a different game going there,” said the 23-year-old. “We’re the away team now. Obviously when they came to White Hart Lane they tried to get men behind the ball and we had to break them down which we found very difficult as the result proved.

“But now with a new manager and a new style of playing, hopefully it might be a different story.”

Kyle also believes Saturday’s trip to Hull provides an ideal opportunity to resume our impressive recent run of results after Wednesday night’s disappointment against Manchester City.

“Obviously with the result a couple of days ago we need to put that right and put that to bed,” he added. “There’s no better way of doing that than by getting a victory – and a good victory at that.”
