Hull v Spurs - opposing manager's view
20 May 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
Hull City manager Marco Silva admits we've had a “very good” season, but has urged his relegated charges to play for pride as the curtain falls on the 2016-17 campaign on Sunday.
The Tigers’ fate was sealed last weekend when they crashed to a 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace, slipping back into the Championship just a year after promotion.
Silva, however, has challenged his squad to go out on a high when we visit the KCOM Stadium on the final day (kick-off 3pm).
“I want the players to play with the motivation to end the season well in front of our own fans,” he said.
“That is our focus, but of course we are playing against a team that is in a good place at this moment. Tottenham have had a very good season and play some very good football, but we want to give our fans one last good result this season.
“Of course the disappointment and frustration is still felt because we didn’t achieve our goal of staying up.
“It’s a time to analyse and I think we have improved collectively and we have improved individuals as well.”
