Hugo ready for Hammers test

Hugo Lloris says the players are ready to give everything in a bid to start the new Premier League season with a win.

We begin the new campaign with an away London derby for the second year in a row, travelling to West Ham on Saturday afternoon looking to get straight off the mark on the opening weekend.

Last season’s curtain-raiser at Crystal Palace ended with a 1-0 scoreline in our favour, but goalkeeper Hugo is fully aware of how difficult it will be to take all the spoils away from Upton Park this time around.

“The first game of the season is always tough,” said Hugo, who captained France at the World Cup this summer and returned to action for us in last weekend’s 2-1 friendly win against Schalke at White Hart Lane.

“All the teams will be trying to get some points as quickly as possible and we know West Ham is a big derby game so that adds to the occasion.

“It’s very early in the season but we will be ready to put on a big challenge and hopefully we will get all three points.”
