Hugo on Palace opener

15 August 2013|Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris knows we have to be at our best as we face Crystal Palace in our season opener on Sunday.

We travel to Selhurst Park for a 1.30pm kick-off in match televised live on Sky Sports.

Palace were promoted via the play-offs last season and have prepared for their first Premier League campaign since 2005-06 by signing strikers Stephen Dobbie, Dwight Gayle and Kevin Phillips. Former Charlton and West Brom winger Jerome Thomas, Jose Campana (Sevilla) and Elliot Grandin (Blackburn) have also arrived.

"We are all happy to start the Premier League after a good preparation and now it’s important to start with a good result," said Hugo, back at the Training Centre after captaining France and keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Belgium on Thursday.

"We know it won’t be an easy game because Palace have just been promoted and they will try to find the confidence to get the most points possible.

"They will be excited at the first game and I’m sure it will be a great atmosphere.

"We have to be ready, to concentrate, to do our jobs and put together a good performance."
