Hugo looks for response

Hugo Lloris is looking for a positive reaction to Sunday's defeat at Norwich City.

The goalkeeper reflected his team-mates’ disappointment after we succumbed to a first defeat in eight away matches in the Premier League.

Robert Snodgrass’ goal early in the second half settled matters at Carrow Road. We struggled to get going but finally clicked into gear and created chances in our best spell between 60-80 minutes without finding an equaliser.

After three-successive away matches, we now return to White Hart Lane for the second leg our of Europa League Round of 32 against FC Dnipro on Thursday night and then Cardiff in the Premier League on Sunday.

“It’s a big disappointment,” admitted Hugo. “We wanted more. We came here to get the three points but we didn’t do enough.

“We can’t accept this kind of game. We have to show more.

“We need to learn from this game and on Thursday, we have a big match in the Europa League and then next weekend, Cardiff. It’s important to have a good response.”

It was suggested to Hugo that the reaction was key this week. “We don’t need to lose that kind of game to react,” he added.

“When you have ambition you have to prove it every day, every training session and every time in the games. We have to keep working, keep going and hope we have a good response in both matches.”
