Hugo happy with friendly opener - but all eyes on Palace date
17 July 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
Hugo Lloris has his sights set on one date – August 18.
That’s when six weeks of pre-season preparation ends and we kick-off the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League season at Crystal Palace.
Until then though, the goalkeeper has underlined the importance of our friendly schedule which started with a 1-1 draw at Swindon Town last night.
Hugo and Brad Friedel shared goalkeeping duties at the County Ground as Gareth Bale fired us into a 15th-minute lead before Andy Williams levelled with a deflected shot in the 75th minute.
“It was a good game, of course it’s not competitive, but it’s important to prepare for next season,” said the French international captain.
“For me, it’s to find an understanding with my team-mates and for all the players, to have time on the pitch.
“It’s important to work hard in training but to play a match against a tough team is good for us.
“The main thing is to be ready for the new season and for Palace. We have the time, but it’s important to concentrate and continue our hard work in pre-season.”
