Hughton's United front

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Hughton explained that Manchester United's recent dip in fortunes will have no bearing on his approach to the game at Old Trafford on Saturday.

United come into the Premiership encounter on the back of suffering a painful exit from the Champions League and a 4-1 reverse in the Manchester derby. Chris insists that, regardless of recent events, he would always make the trip north confident of achieving a positive outcome.

"I take it as an opportunity to go there and get a result - and not because of the recent period they are having," he stated, pointing out that the team were particularly unlucky to come away from the visit to title favourites Arsenal with no reward after a good performance.

"At this particular moment Arsenal are very much on top and we were very unfortunate not to come away from there with at least a draw. Irrespective of the way United are playing, it is always difficult to go there and get a positive result, but it is a place where you can get one.

"What we've got at the moment, certainly with the options we have up front, is the knowledge that we are capable of scoring goals and, after the Newcastle game, we know we are capable of keeping a clean sheet. We are capable of going up there and doing something good."

The first team coach added that profit from a visit to Old Trafford is unlikely to be secured by teams who simply go there to contain the reigning champions.

"There are numerous teams that have gone there, rode their luck and managed to get a goal at the right time. You have to go there and look to play, if you sit deep they have so much quality and can really hurt you.

"It is very difficult for teams when Manchester United get into a flow and, the only way you can break that up, is to play yourselves. In possession you must look to be offensive and put them under pressure - I think you've got to approach the game that way."
