HUGHTON'S NOTES

Chris Hughton's regular assessment of our forthcoming opponents - next up, Fulham at the Lane on Sunday.

Chris Hughton's regular assessment of our forthcoming opponents - next up, Fulham at the Lane on Sunday.

FULHAM struggled to win games away from home last season but on a number of occasions they were pleased with their away performances, just not the result. That could always turn around in their favour and as we all know, they won at Newcastle last time out.

They will certainly miss Jimmy Bullard and by their own admission, they've been delighted with his form so far this season. Diop came off in their last game as well, so he could miss out as well and that would be two players out of the midfield four that started at Newcastle.

Generally, they will play a 4-4-2 with the midfield either in a diamond shape or a flat four. We expect Michael Brown to be involved and he was very well thought of here at Spurs. Boa Morte is likely to play a left-sided role but he has showed his versatility of late and can play on the right or more in field. Radzinski can also play in wide areas.

Up front, Brian McBride is a good player and gives them an aerial presence, a real English-style forward and very highly thought of by anyone who plays against him. Collins John gives them good pace, enthusiasm, youthfulness, so they have enough in offensive areas.

Defensively they are well settled. Rosenior, Queudrue is a good acquisition from Middlesbrough, Knight, who has played a number of games now and Ian Pearce, who has had his injury problems but people are well aware what a good defender he is when fit. Niemi is very highly-rated in goal.

Fulham are a side with principles of passing the ball and that will be the case, home or away.
