Hughton's notes

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Hughton gives his thoughts on our forthcoming opponents - next up, Bolton away in the Premier League tonight...

IF I LOOK at our result at Bolton in the Carling Cup I'd have to say it was one of our best of the season. Bolton are playing well and they've cemented a system that means they are able to bring players in to fit into that system.

It's a difficult game for anyone going there. They've been able to pick up their form. By their own standards, they had a very poor run but they are now back into a winning streak and it's a tricky time to go there.

If Diouf plays as a centre-forward he's a different type of player but they haven't changed their game so much, even if you look at Davies, very much a target man who has been great for them. What Diouf will give them is more mobility and he will work the channels. You also tend to get more interchange between Diouf, Stelios and Nolan. Stelios is on the left but if Diouf goes wide, Stelios might end up central or if Diouf goes right, Nolan might end up in the centre forward position. When Davies plays he tends to stick to the central position.

Campo is a big player for them. It took him a while to adapt and he played at centre-half on a few occasions but he's one who has showed his qualities and if I look at the years he's played at the highest level, it certainly shows.

Vincent Candela is another proven international player they've managed to sign. Sam Allardyce has brought in a number of players over a period of time and he's got most of them right and because they've cemented this playing system, he'll bring in players to go straight into that system.

A great example of that is Diouf, who had difficulties at Liverpool but always had good ability on the ball, you knew he was a good player. At

Liverpool they brought him in to score goals and he found that difficult, but he's one who has slotted in very quickly to the way Bolton play.
