Hughton's joy for Jamie
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Chris Hughton was left enthusing about youngster Jamie O'Hara's cameo performance in last night's reserve draw against Watford.
Just turned 17, Jamie cracked home a 20-yarder within two minutes of coming on for what was his reserve team debut.
The midfielder entered the fray for Stephane Dalmat on the hour and produced 30 minutes of quality and enthusiasm as we turned a 3-1 deficit into a 3-3 draw.
"I was delighted with Jamie O'Hara," beamed Chris. "To come on for his first reserve game and have the impact he had, that was great.
"He did ever so well. He wanted it and it was probably a good time to come on because the game had opened up, but you still have to do it. It was just what the game needed at that time."
Chris was less enthusiastic about the first half display as we went 2-0 down, grabbed a goal back before the break only to concede again for 3-1 a minute into the second half. But to their credit, the lads turned it around.
"The first and second half performances were chalk and cheese," added Chris. "We were nowhere near good enough in the first half, second to the ball, they were a good side and you could see why they won the league last season.
"We didn't match that and you have to look to do that and then play.
"To then concede so early in the second half as well, to come back from that the lads have showed great spirit. You didn't want the game to finish and we could have nicked it in the end."
