Chris Hughton has so many highlights from last season he struggled to nail down a favourite."That's a tough one," smiled Chris when asked for his highlight of 2006-07 and it's easy to see where Martin Jol's assistant is coming from when you reflect on a 59-game campaign that saw us finish fifth again in the Premiership and reach the latter stages of three cup competitions, including a successful return to European football.
"I'd have to say all of the European campaign," continued Chris. "There are games that stand out like Besiktas, we knew how passionate that crowd was and to go there and win as we did was probably our best game in Europe, I would have to say. Braga away, even Slavia Prague, we enjoyed them all.
"Strangely enough, one of the highlights was a game we didn't win, the 3-3 draw in the FA Cup at Chelsea. To go there and play that well was a big, big plus.
"The away victories at Everton and certainly Fulham in the FA Cup was a turning point in terms of performances away from home, plus the goals we scored that day.
"For me, Charlton away was a big result with only three games to go and Charlton being in the situation they were in, needing to win and at that stage we weren't guaranteed Europe.
"Performance-wise, strange again, but Newcastle at home when we lost 3-2 was one of our best footballing displays of the season yet we lost the game. I think we had 24 attempts on goal that day.
"There's Chelsea at home, of course and the result at West Ham, an incredible game. Besiktas and West Ham away are my two games of the season.
"I think Sevilla at home was the biggest disappointment because we were so close and the fashion we went out, two goals in the first eight minutes and we were always going to struggle after that."
