Hughton on the Hammers

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Hughton admits there will be no room for sympathy when he travels to his former club West Ham on Saturday.

Always known for his 15 years playing service at Spurs, first team coach Chris actually moved onto West Ham for a couple of years in 1990 before ending his career at Brentford.

It was a successful spell as the Hammers achieved promotion back into the top flight and Chris was just a game away from lining up against us in the 1991 FA Cup Final.

Chris explained: "When I left Spurs in 1990 I had a year and a half at West Ham. It was a very happy period.

"We managed to get promotion from the old Second Division to the First and it was an enjoyable time for me.

"We also lost quite heavily in the end in a very dramatic FA Cup semi-final when Tony Gale was sent off against Nottingham Forest and that robbed me of an FA Cup Final appearance against Tottenham.

"Obviously it's disappointing for me to see where West Ham are at the moment but that doesn't come into it.

"It's about us, our performance and getting the three points we need.

"It was a disappointing result against Fulham, a game we should have won, had the chances to win and it's about us bouncing back and being right for another very important game."
