Hughton on Baggies draw
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Chris Hughton got just what he expected from West Brom on Wednesday night.
The in-form Baggies boing-boinged into the Lane in fine form and took a deserved lead in the first half via Zoltan Gera.
We dominated possession after that but only found a way through after the introduction of Mido up front in the second half. His aerial presence led to Robbie Keane's equaliser but although we probed away, clear-cut chances were at a premium.
"It was a difficult game but we knew that going into it," reflected coach Chris. "They are in a very good run of picking up points and even more so, their performances have been very good.
"We knew it would be difficult and conceding as early as we did made it even more so.
"The fact they took the lead meant a in a way they were fearful of giving that lead away so they got bodies back behind the ball. That made it hard for us to get the ball into the front men."
Mido's arrival for the second half certainly shook up the West Brom defence but just as we looked to be getting on top, Bryan Robson threw on burly defender Darren Moore to help shore his side up. It worked a treat.
Chris added: "Mido's presence gave us an opportunity to win some balls, we changed our game a little and that being the case, Bryan Robson used his experience to make sure they stayed tighter.
"To be fair, they still had moments in the second half when they broke and the difficulty for us at 1-1 was not to play so open a game that they ended up countering on us and nicking another goal."
