Huddlestone on Rasiak
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Tom Huddlestone is probably best placed to offer an assessment on the attributes new signing Grzegorz Rasiak will bring to the squad.
The Polish international was recruited on transfer deadline day from Tom's former club Derby County where the pair spent the best part of last season together as the Rams pushed up the Championship table to secure a play-off spot.
Rasiak scored 17 goals after Derby secured his services following the breakdown of a proposed switch to Italian side Siena.
"Grzeg did tremendously for us last year when he came in, I think he averaged a goal every two games which in a tough league is a great record," reflected the England under-21 international.
"From what I understand, he agreed to move to Italy but it fell through and Derby moved in. It was one of the main reasons why we got in the play-offs.
"He is big striker, good in the air and can hold the ball up well. I know it is said a lot but, for his size, his feet are very good. He's got a bit of pace and his finishing is probably his strongest point - which is obviously a bonus for a striker."
The striker's profile on the Derby website paints him as having an 'astonishing range of passing' and Tom pretty much goes along with the description.
"His passing is very good. Saying he is a complete striker might be a bit over the top but his passing is probably as good as his finishing.
"I think he will take the step up in his stride and do well for Spurs."
