hotspur - OUT NOW!

Find out what our players want for Christmas in the December issue of hotspur.

Find out what our players want for Christmas in the December issue of hotspur.

The latest edition of our official monthly magazine is now in the shops and features the festive thoughts of Peter Crouch, Niko Kranjcar, Jermain Defoe, Michael Dawson, Giovani Dos Santos, Heurelho Gomes, Tom Huddlestone and coach Clive Allen.

"I love Christmas," reports Crouchy while Niko reflects on the two months break he enjoyed in Croatia at this time of year! Jermain, not surprisingly, is purely focused on more goals.

Harry Redknapp is the main interview and looks back on his first year as Spurs manager...and ahead with great optimism.

He talks about his determination to maintain our place in the top four and is buoyed by the progress he has already seen at the Lane.

"We'll be there pushing all the way," vows Harry. "People are impressed at how we've progressed this season but, in my mind, the level of expectation that grows by the week is about right."

And how will he spend Christmas Day? Quite simply, it will be business as usual for Redknapp and the squad.

He says: "We'll be training for our Boxing Day trip to Fulham; it becomes second nature - the whole festive period is no different to any other time of the season."

Defender Sebastien Bassong is the subject of our popular ‘Onside' session as he talks about his early life in Paris, his euphoria at scoring for Spurs on his opening day a whole lot more!

You can also win a pair of Sebastien's boots in another exclusive hotspur competition.

Goalkeeping legend Pat Jennings takes over the hot seat as he answers a great range of questions from readers - in fact the response was so impressive that we will certainly have to feature the great man again in the New Year because the questions literally poured in!

Pat talks about his breakthrough into the professional game, the great Spurs teams and major games that he played in, fantastic players like his international room mate George Best plus our own Alan Gilzean and Cyril Knowles. He also ponders on the merits of one particular World Cup goal that quite literally flew past him!

On the subject of the World Cup, we look ahead at the possible influence our own players could have on South Africa 2010 while we consider the ‘Fantastic Firsts' this Club has achieved over the years, some amazing milestones that illustrate our heritage and will stir some interesting memories.

Also on the nostalgia front we focus on season 1979-80 as Glenn Hoddle emerged and Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa settled in alongside him. Phil Beal looks back on his debut in 1963, remembering that day at Villa Park with the words:

"Before the kick-off I thought to myself 'what a team I have around me'. Bill Brown was in goal, then you had the likes of Ron Henry, Peter Baker, Cliff Jones, Maurice Norman, John White and Bobby Smith. Amazing players and fantastic guys too."

We 'catch up' with our Superleague Formula driver Craig Dolby who came so close to snatching the Championship crown. And our former left-back Mauricio Taricco talks about the challenge ahead now that he and former Spurs pal Gus Poyet have taken over at Brighton.

'Tano' sums up his Spurs experience quite simply: "My time at Tottenham was just fantastic," he recalls.

World Champion athlete Iwan Thomas looks back on the days when his father would take him to watch Spurs on the back of his old motorcycle - all the way from Cambridgeshire and in all weathers!

He says: "My whole life has been about Spurs, they are undoubtedly my side."

Meanwhile, guest columnist and England rugby star Jamie Noon returns to the Christmas topic as he talks about the 'buzz' associated with festive fixtures and predicts that the holiday games could be the "defining" point in our season.

In all in the December issue of hotspur, on sale now for just £3.45. And with its festive theme, the ideal stocking filler!
