Honest Nacer targets upturn in form

Nacer Chadli was candid in his assessment of Saturday’s defeat to Aston Villa, insisting improvement is required in all areas ahead of next weekend’s trip to Newcastle.
A first half header from Christian Benteke saw the Villans run out 1-0 winners, with Harry Kane and Danny Rose going closest for us on a disappointing afternoon at White Hart Lane.
Midfielder Nacer, who played 62 minutes before being replaced by striker Roberto Soldado, admitted we didn’t do enough to take anything from the game and has called for a better performance at St James’ Park on Sunday.
“The problem was we didn’t create enough chances and we didn’t play well enough to do all of the things we need to,” said the 25-year-old.
“We knew Aston Villa would fight but we played for the three points too and they fought harder than us.
“We have to improve a lot, we have to get better in every sector as a team and everybody as individuals to play a better game.
“This match shows we are not in good form and we have to respond next week at Newcastle.”
