Home and away

Kevin Bond insists we're doing everything to try and replicate our home form on our travels.

Kevin Bond insists we're doing everything to try and replicate our home form on our travels.

Saturday's 1-0 victory against West Brom took our run to one defeat in 20 in all competitions at White Hart Lane under Harry Redknapp.

It also made it 14 home games without defeat in all competitions, 10 games without defeat in the Premier League and was our fifth home win on the trot in the league.

Defensively, we've now kept six-successive clean sheets at the Lane and have one game left against Manchester City on Saturday week, May 16, to protect our current record of nine goals conceded. The all-time Club record for a home league campaign is 11 back in 1919-20 in the old Second Division, 13 in the top flight and 16 in the Premier League era.

Recent form has also been good on the road although our away record this season has been blighted by conceding late goals at Newcastle, West Brom, Wigan, Bolton and Blackburn.

The most recent late loss at Ewood Park wasn't helped by a controversial decision to send off Wilson Palacios and we felt hard done by again on our last away day at Old Trafford, where we put in an almost-perfect performance to lead 2-0 after 55 minutes only for a penalty decision to spark a five-goal comeback from the champions elect.

"We look at everything and that's something we need to address," said assistant boss Kevin. "We're looking at how we can improve that away form and be more resolute.

"We didn't do a lot wrong up at Old Trafford for 60 minutes but when things go against us, we can't let it affect us and we need to be more resilient.

"It's always going to be more difficult on another team's patch but we've bossed games away from home. We did well at United but one decision went against us and we shouldn't really have capitulated like we did.

"Go back to Blackburn as well, we dominated there before losing 2-1. If something goes against us or we concede a goal then we have to be more reslient. We're looking at everything and seeing where we can improve.

"We've done well at home and if we can get near to that form away from home we'll be a team to be reckoned with."
