Holiday options for Scott

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Spurs fan Scott Offord won our Thomson Shoot for a Holiday competition at half time at our game against Liverpool and immediately turned his thoughts to where he might go with his £1,000 holiday voucher prize.

Cancun in Mexico was one idea as was somewhere exotic in the Caribbean.

Luckily Thomson offer holidays to both destinations costing between £500 - £600 per person depending upon the time of year you want to travel, so we got some brief details together to help Scott decide.

Cancun, Mexico

Cancun's magnificent coastline is littered with hotels offering very high standards of accommodation. Separated into two sections, the tourist area of the city has grown up on the 23 kilometre island which is linked to the land via two bridges, while the mainland area, downtown Cancun, is home to the local population and the service industries which have emerged around the resort. With the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea on one side and the lagoon on the other, it is easy to see why Cancun's island has become a thriving resort. Cancun's success lies in the kilometres of soft white sand and sparkling blue waters that grace its coast. The coral sand remains cool despite the glaring sun, thanks to its aquatic origins. The Hotels run water sports on most of the beaches, with good conditions. A flag system is run along the east facing shore, as undertows can occur.

St John's is one of the only centres of activity in Antigua. Its old-world charm blends lattice streets and wooden buildings with new, duty-free complexes. Huge luxury cruise ships berth in the harbour, alongside the small fishing vessels and nearby you'll find St John's market which is well worth a visit. The area north of St John's is geared towards tourism, although, the atmosphere is pretty low-key. Situated here is Runaway Bay, a peaceful stretch of sand, and Dickenson Bay, a more lively beach with a few bars and restaurants, some of which feature live jazz and reggae. Paradise Reef, is the ideal spot for snorkelling. South of St John's is Deep Bay and Fort Barrington, which provides stunning views over the town. Water sports are available but there is little other activity outside of the hotels.

If you fancy a once in a lifetime opportunity to play on the hallowed turf at White Hart Lane in front of 36,000 fans, with the chance to actually score a goal and at the same time pick up a Thomson holiday worth £1,000, then register for Shoot for a Holiday and you could be the one battling it out with a Portsmouth fan at our home game against Portsmouth on Saturday February 7th.

The lucky person, who will be selected at random from all the entrants, will also get two tickets to the match and a full kit to keep!
