Heung-Min Son named Premier League EA SPORTS Player of the Month
14 October 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Heung-Min Son has been named Premier League EA SPORTS Player of the Month for September.
In doing so, Sonny becomes the first Asian player to lift the award since its inception back in 1994. Coincidentally, Jurgen Klinsmann was the first recipient in August, 1994.
September was quite a month for the South Korean star.
Back in the team after representing his country in the Olympics in Rio, Sonny bagged two goals in our 4-0 win at Stoke and followed up with both goals in our 2-1 win at Middlesbrough. Away from that, he also hit a crucial winner at CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.
Sonny won four Man of the Match awards - voted for by our fans - for his performances against Stoke, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and CSKA Moscow and then claimed the Under Armour Goal of the Month for September!
