Heritage Ambassador Programme brings history to local community
29 June 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
As the redevelopment of Percy House on Tottenham High Road continues, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has launched the Heritage Ambassador Programme, which aims to recruit volunteers to teach the landmark’s history to the local community.
Built in the 18th century and recognised as being of high national importance, Percy House will become the new home of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation once building work is complete.
Ambassadors from the programme will initially attend a series of workshops to develop their knowledge within the heritage sector. They will then reach out to local community groups and schools to educate them on topics including the history of the Percy family, their links with Sir Henry Hotspur - nicknamed Harry - and the early years of the Club from 1880 up to the First World War in 1914.
Community groups will also be invited to visit Percy House for heritage open days once a month to learn more.
