Kevin Bond expects the squad's winning mentality to kick-in as soon as Vodacom Challenge gets underway in South Africa on Saturday.
We open the tournament against Kaizer Chiefs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium tomorrow, July 16, kicking-off at 2pm UK time.
We then face Orlando Pirates at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Tuesday, July 19 before taking on the winners of next Thursday's Chiefs/Pirates clash in the final at Ellis Park on Saturday week, July 23.
These matches represent our first action of pre-season and assistant boss Kevin insists the lads will be out to lift the trophy again - just like we did on our last visit to South Africa in 2007.
"It's pre-season but once the players get out there in these great stadiums, with the big crowds, the winning mentality will take over," he said.
"That's the case anytime they play. They can have an eight-a-side match in training at Spurs Lodge and they will want to win.
"We'll go into these matches trying our level best to get positive results. That never changes.
"We'll be looking at fitness levels and for the lads to work as hard as they can during their time on the field to get the maximum out of it.
"We're working on the basics, looking for positive performances from each individual and a positive result as well.
"It's certainly a tournament we'd like to do well in."
