Hats off to Mabizela

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Our young Spurs XI were pegged back by Luton Town as Mbulelo Mabizela completed the full 90 minutes on his debut at Kenilworth Road.

Jamie Slabber opened the scoring in an impressive first half display but the home side grew stronger and stronger, were rewarded by Steve Howard's equaliser before grabbing an injury time winner via Kevin Foley.

Always a physical game for a friendly, the tackles went flying in and Mabizela certainly made an early mark on English football with a crunching challenge on Kevin Nicholls.

Mark Yeates was prominent in our bright start as the lads enjoyed a slick passing surface.

The young Irishman dragged an early shot wide and Gus Poyet was closer still from 25 yards after 13 minutes.

Luton broke away midway through the half but Rob Burch made a tricky save out of the top corner look like picking apples.

Mark Hughes came on for a dazed Rohan Ricketts after 25 minutes and contributed to the opener within seconds.

The home side were initially opened up by Yeates' skills, Hughes dinked the ball into Jamie Slabber who left David Bayliss standing in one move before firing low and hard past Jalal.

We enjoyed spells of possession as the half wore on and two lovely moves almost ended in reward late on.

Poyet was inches away from John Jackson's cross after 41 minutes and the move of the half ended with Poyet spreading the play wide to David Galbraith, an early cross and Jackson nodding just over.

The second half lacked the spark of the first as efforts from Marney and Poyet were wide of the mark in a stop-start opening 20 minutes.

Hatters had their best spell midway through the half. Burch was alert to save low to his right from Hughes' header before Steve Howard finished smartly in space from Tony Thorpe's cross to level the scores on 68 minutes.

Luton were now on top and Burch did well to palm away Spring's 22-yarder after 77 minutes.

Crowe somehow failed to hit the target from six yards but the winner followed in injury time as Spring's low cross was met by Kevin Foley.
