Hassan's after Glenn

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Villa newboy Hassan Kachloul today sent a warning to former boss Glenn Hoddle ahead of the Premiership opener at White Hart Lane, insisting: “We’re coming to London for the three points.”

Villa were the Premiership draw-specialists last season, but aim to get the new campaign off to a winning start against Spurs tomorrow.

And summer arrival Kachloul is convinced the new-look squad has what it takes to do just that.

He said: “I think we’ve got more players than last year for a start. With Peter Schmeichel in goal, he’ll bring confidence to the defence. He’s a leader from the back.

“I think we’ve got a good balance between midfield, the strikers and the defenders. Now we just have to make sure we don’t get too many injuries.

“I really hope we can get a good result against Spurs. Glenn Hoddle was of course my manager at Spurs, so I know to expect a tough game.

“But if we can do well, we’re going to bring confidence to the team for the big game at home to Manchester United next week.”

Former Southampton star Kachloul has been impressive during Villa InterToto Cup campaign, but is not taking a starting place at Spurs for granted.

He added: “I don’t think any player can be guaranteed a place in the starting 11. You have to prove yourself every day in training. You have to prove you deserve a place in the team.

“But I’m willing to play wherever I’m asked. I’ve been playing on the left, where I’ve been playing for the last two years at Southampton.

“I have had one game on the right for Villa, so I can play in different positions if needed. It just depends what the manager wants at any given time. I’ll play anywhere.”
