Harry up for the cups

Harry Kane is aiming to fire in cup football again against Besiktas at the Lane tonight.

The striker has scored three goals in four cup matches so far this season and found the net in both legs of our Europa League play-off against AEL.

He also went closest to breaking the deadlock in our Group C opener against Partizan Belgrade when he struck the woodwork as it ended goalless in Serbia a fortnight ago.

After hitting the target against Forest in the Capital One Cup last week, he now has Besiktas in his sights.

“You have to compete for places and every time you get the chance to show the manager what you can do it’s important to go out and do that,” said Harry.

“Hopefully we can do that as a team, it would be great to score as well, but the most important thing is the team and we want to come away with a win.”

Besiktas impressed in their Champions League play-off over two legs against Arsenal and lost out to the single goal at the Emirates.

“They were unlucky against Arsenal, they looked a top side and we know what we’re up against,” added Harry. “These are the games you want to be playing in.

“There are no easy away games in Europe so you have to take advantage of your home games. We’re looking for a win.”
