Harry Kane shortlisted for FIFA FIFpro World XI
Wed 20 September 2017, 17:30|Tottenham Hotspur
Harry Kane has been shortlisted for the prestigious FIFA FIFPro World XI for 2017.
The striker is the only England international on the 55-player list and one of only two British players nominated alongside Gareth Bale, who made the shortlist three times as a Spurs player in 2010, 2011 and 2013. The team is selected over the calendar year. The Premier League is represented by 13 players in total while La Liga has 23 with Bale and Luka Modric two of 12 players listed from our Champions League opponents Real Madrid.
It's been quite a year for Harry, 24. He has scored 28 goals so far with a flurry towards the end of last season securing a second-successive Golden Boot as the Premier League's top goalscorer. He also captained England in the summer.
His first goal this season represented his 100th for the Club - only the 17th player in our history do achieve that feat - and he followed up with a double in a memorable 3-1 win against Borussia Dortmund as we returned to Champions League action last week. He's now up to 103 goals for us in 171 appearances.
The shortlist was compiled from the votes of 25,000 professional footballers from 75 different countries and the final XI will be announced at the Best Fifa Football Awards in London on 23 October.

Kyle shortlisted for 'Golden Boy' award
Meanwhile, Kyle Walker-Peters has been nominated for the 'Golden Boy' award, founded in 2003 by Italian newspaper Tuttosport and awarded to European football's most impressive young player under the age of 21.
The winner is decided by a panel of sports journalists across Europe and the shortlst includes the likes of Kylian Mbappe (PSG), Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona), Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City) and Marcus Rashford (Manchester United). Previous winners include former Spurs favourite Rafa van der Vaart, who won the inaugral award, Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi and Paul Pogba. Last year's winner was Renato Sanches of Portugal, currently on loan with Swansea from Bayern Munich.
Like Harry, Kyle is a product of our Academy and has enjoyed a fine 2017, including helping England win the FIFA Under-20 World Cup with team-mate Josh Onamah and his Premier League debut at Newcastle, where he was named Man of the Match in our 2-0 win.
