Harry Kane: "It felt great to win"
24 September 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
Harry Kane was delighted to ‘set up a great weekend’ for our fans.
The striker scored twice as we won a typically eventful derby clash at the London Stadium.
It looked plain sailing as Harry’s quick one-two put us 2-0 up at half-time and Christian Eriksen added the third on the hour.
Of course, it was never going to be that way in this derby – West Ham made it 3-1, Serge Aurier was sent off for two bookable offences with 20 minutes left and Cheikhou Kouyate pulled another back for 3-2 on 87 minutes, but we stood firm.
“This is always a tough place to come and it feels great to win,” said Harry. “Our fans are always fantastic so to be able to go over and applaude them after London derby win sets up a great weekend.
“We were controlling the ball, had a couple of chances, I hit the post and it looked like we were going to see the game out well but goals change games, they got back to 3-1, we then got a man sent off and the game completed changed.
“If you give a team in the Premier League a sniff of a comeback they will to take it, especially in a London Derby.
“We ground it out. They got back to 3-2 but other than that they didn't create too many chances. It was a fantastic result, a big three points."
