Harry eyes more goals after Hawthorns header

15 April 2014|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane praised the spirit of his team-mates as we recovered from a three-goal deficit to draw 3-3 at West Brom.

Harry bagged his second goal in two games to pull it back to 3-2 at The Hawthorns on Saturday, after Jonas Olsson’s own goal had initially reduced the arrears.

Christian Eriksen then rifled in a stoppage time leveller to secure a share of the spoils, leaving Harry to reflect on a dramatic comeback.

“Once we got back to 3-1 and then 3-2 we thought they’d crumble and we got the third,” he said.

“We missed a penalty, went 3-0 down and could have hung up our boots and thought ‘it’s one of those days’ but the lads dug deep.

“We got the goal back before the break, that was important, and we said at half-time if we got the second, we’d get the third and that’s how it panned out.

“Fortunately it fell to Christian for the third goal and he put it in the back of the net. He was calm as you like. I thought he might strike it first time but he’s a composed player and he showed it at the end.

“It was great spirit from the lads, we showed we’re together.”

Harry was thrilled to get on the scoresheet again, having also hit the target in the 5-1 win at home to Sunderland five days previously – a match that marked his first Premier League start for us.

“It’s good to score an important goal,” he said. “It was great to start again, too. I want to give back goals.

“Hopefully I can keep it up, get another start and another goal next week.

“We’ve four games left and it would be great to get some more starts and more goals between now and the end of the season.”
