Harry backing Brazil

Tue 10 June 2014, 11:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane isn't looking beyond Brazil as favourites to land the World Cup on home soil.

The hosts - likely to include Harry's team-mate Paulinho - kick-off the 2014 tournament against Croatia on Thursday. They also take on Mexico and Benoit Assou-Ekotto's Cameroon in Group One.

Harry, who unfortunately missed out on taking Brazil on at Under-20 level in the Toulon Tournament due to an ankle injury, feels the seniors can lift the famous trophy for a sixth time.

"It will be a great tournament, I’m looking forward to it," said Harry, who made his first team breakthrough last season with 19 appearances and four goals.

"As it’s in Brazil, they have to be favourites and they are a great side all-round.

"There are good teams out there though. As an Englishman, I’d love to see England win it, but it’s going to be tough.

"Belgium have a very strong team and Spain, who have won the last three big major tournaments, will be there but I’d go for Brazil at the moment. I can't wait to watch it!"
