Harry appreciates FA Cup tradition

Harry Kane insists the magic of the FA Cup is not lost on our younger players.

Our England Under-21 striker, who marked his return from injury in our marvellous 2-1 win at Manchester United on New Year’s Day, is relishing our third round tie against rivals Arsenal today.

And he fully appreciates the magnitude of the fixture at the Emirates as we look to embark on the road to Wembley.

“Any young lad growing up knows about the FA Cup,” Harry said. “Watching it as a kid, you want to be a part of it and all the young lads know how special it is. But saying that, the senior players do as well.

“These are the games we want to be playing in. The FA Cup is a special competition and obviously London derbies don’t get much bigger.

“We want to go there and put in the performance we know we can, get the result and go through to the next round.”

Harry added that the momentum gained from this week’s victory at United can serve us well going into today’s game.

“Winning away at Old Trafford is special and the way we did it was great. I thought we played well, we dug in and the boys are buzzing, but we’ve got another tough game away at the Emirates.

“The boys are looking forward to it and hopefully we can put in a good performance and get the result.”
