Jan Vertonghen paid tribute to Harry Kane after the young striker’s hat-trick against Asteras Tripolis on Thursday night.
Harry and Erik Lamela lit up the Lane as we ran out 5-1 winners in the Europa League – Erik scoring a wonder ‘Rabona’ strike, one of his two goals on the night.
Academy product Harry’s treble was his first for the club at senior level and he became only the 10th player to claim a hat-trick for us in European football.
It also made it seven goals in his 10 appearances this season – all in cup football.
“Harry is an unbelievable player,” said Jan. “The fans are starting to see it but I see it every day in training.
“For me, with his attitude, he can be one of the best centre forwards in the world one day. He has a spirit you can compare to Ronaldo.
“He works every day, he’s a top professional and I love working with him.
“I hope one day he can make his debut in the England squad because I feel he’s one of the best around.”
