Happy return for Jamie
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Jamie Redknapp was delighted to be back in the thick of things following a 20 minute substitute appearance in the 1-0 win over Newcastle.
The midfielder, absent since September with a knee injury, replaced Fredi Kanoute as the team changed shape for the final phase of the game and the 30-year-old was straight back into his stride and very much involved in what was a hectic end to the encounter that went our way with an Andy O'Brien own goal five minutes from time.
"I always do that and it is the way I like to play," said Jamie of his lively contribution. "With being out for so long I was so eager to get on and have been like that for a couple of weeks.
"I was really pleased and it is great to be back involved again. I have had to be patient but, looking at it, it was probably for the best because - even though it was 20 minutes - if you are not quite fit enough you can still get found out.
"I feel I am now getting closer to being ready to play. It is lovely to be out there as you can't beat playing in front of a crowd. Winning has made it even better."
Jamie agreed that, with the nature of the game and the rainswept conditions, an error was always likely to settle the contest.
"When you looked at the two teams there was absolutely nothing to choose between us and that showed with a goal like that separating us at the end. It was a great win for us and just what we needed."
