Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Pat Holland took charge of the reserves on Monday night and was a suitably content coach after the second string secured a hat-trick of wins with a 5-0 victory over Coventry City.
The Academy under-19 coach stepped in for Clive Allen, allowing Chris Hughton to join David Pleat in the stand to study the form of new boy Michael Brown and several other first team contenders.
It was also an opportunity for the management to assess the progress of the returning Christian Ziege, but this proved to be a brief one as the German was forced from the field with a gash above the eye that required five stitches. Johnnie Jackson replaced Christian at left-back and, as he has recently for the seniors, put on a display of great authority.
Goals from Helder Postiga, two from Michael Brown, Jamie Slabber and Rohan Ricketts settled the eventually one-sided encounter and Pat was pleased with the application of the team over the course of the game.
"I thought all the lads worked really hard and the early goal from Helder helped us and gave us a platform," commented Pat. "We went on from there and I feel we did okay. We had a bit of disruption when Christian got hurt, but Jacko came in and filled the space there.
"At half-time it was a question of asking for the same concentration and they went out and showed the same sort of attitude. I suppose there are always spells when you lose it a little bit, but the third goal really wrapped it up for us."
Two goals in his first outing in a Spurs shirt made it a memorable evening for new boy Michael and Pat feels that the recruit from Sheffield United will have benefited from the run-out.
"He showed a terrific attitude in what was his first reserve game. He worked hard for 90 minutes and I'm sure he got something out of the game, which is important. He impressed his teammates in his first game and that is excellent."
