Gylfi deserved double - Andre

Andre Villas-Boas was pleased to see Gylfi Sigurdsson's determination rewarded in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Norwich City.
Gylfi shrugged off a niggling injury picked up on international duty for Iceland last week to fire in both our goals at the weekend, securing three points following a dominant team performance.
The 24-year-old finished accurately following a delightful tee-up from Christian Eriksen inside the box to put us into the lead shortly before the half-hour mark, before tucking home our second at the back post following Paulinho’s cross with the second half just four minutes old.
“Siggy was exhausted in the end,” revealed Andre afterwards. “He really put himself forward to play. He was struggling with an injury he picked up for Iceland, so good for him.”
Head Coach Andre was also delighted to see Gylfi’s patience in front of goal rewarded – with the former Hoffenheim player coming close to bagging his hat-trick, only to be denied from long range by Norwich stopper John Ruddy.
“He’s been so unlucky finding the back of the net and to do it twice is so pleasing for him,” said Andre.
“He wanted that hat-trick. I’m truly happy for him, he really deserves that for the professional he is. We had great performances from both Gylfi and Christian after both played for Iceland and Denmark.”
