Gus heading for return
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Gus Poyet is back in the real world - and determined to play against Bolton on Monday.
The midfielder was knocked out cold as he set up Les Ferdinand's winning goal at West Ham last weekend.
Having spent Saturday night in hospital a couple of days at home, Gus was back on the training pitch at the end of last week.
"Everything is perfect," said Gus, who got the all clear from the neuro-surgeon on Wednesday. "I've had a really black eye now for three or four days, it's still there but the bad feeling is practically gone.
"The only problem now is the jokes and the things about Saturday. It is part of football so that's okay.
"I headed the ball in training once today (Friday), that was okay, but I have to wait a couple of days to try it properly. I want to play."
Gus was out of it after clashing heads with Trevor Sinclair at Upton Park. Glenn Hoddle said in the post-match press conference that he's been arguing because he wanted stay on for a corner and Les later revealed that he'd tried to order food.
Gus recalled: "I don't remember all the daft things on television, trying look at Teddy, trying to come back on the pitch, asking for a corner, nothing.
"I don't remember how I left the pitch. When I was in hospital I thought maybe they stretchered me off but I walked off.
"I remember a little in the dressing room when the doctor said the ambulance was ready, then I said 'I feel better now', I was talking to my wife, passed the phone to the doctor and gone again.
"Then I was in the hospital saying 'what's happened?' and 'where am I?'.
"When I came back and started being Gus Poyet again I first asked the result of the game, we won, fantastic, then I wanted something to eat, true, and then how long would I be out?
"That's the first thing you ask the doctor. How long?
"First they said two or three weeks but then said if I was all right, perhaps next week. So that was good."
