Gudni gracious about Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Gudni Bergsson admits it is always a special feeling to come back to White Hart Lane - but that won't stop him trying to break our hearts in the Worthington Cup tonight.

The Icelandic star was back at the Lane for a memorable Premiership clash last week when, in a rollercoaster match, we trailed 1-0, led 2-1, were hauled back to 2-2 before winning 3-2 via Teddy Sheringham's late header.

He will now look for revenge when he returns for the big quarter-final clash.

Gudni, who played almost 100 games for us between 1988-93, confirmed: "It's always a special place to come back to. Spurs were my first club in England and I have great feelings for the club. It was good to come back but I must admit, it's more pleasant when you get the right result!

"We'll have to wait and see for next time. I might be a boring 0-0 draw! You just have to wait and see how these things happen. Hopefully it will be another entertaining game but this time we will look to go through."

It has been suggested that Gudni, amongst others, will be rested tonight.

He wasn't giving anything away though. "It's a big secret how we'll approach this one and I'm not going to give anything away," he said. "It's up to the manager and we'll have to see how things turn out.

"We're in the last eight, semi-finals are looming and both clubs would love to go further. The final is just a couple of wins away so I'm sure it will be a hard-fought game."
